THE RIBBON WHEEL GARDEN

This hugely complex design for a small space consists of an intricate series of ten interlocking paved circles, each one different in design and size and including various formats of setts, pitchers, cobbles, and bespoke radial-cut Rothendale Yorkstone.

A banding of cobbles – the ribbon – connects the circles. Beautiful oversize circular copper planters sit in the centre of several circles with lighting and irrigation feeds coming up into the underside of the containers. The table circle was designed specifically for the table supplied so that the leg footprint would sit stably on sawn stone rather than unevenly on cobbles. A new slot drain running along the length of the boundary wall assists drainage. Beautiful planting enhances the relaxing ambience of the scheme.
