Overview The client was refurbishing the house in a contemporary style. The existing solid concrete terrace was entirely in the shade and not in keeping with the planned upgrade. The new design extended the terrace into the sun using a block and beam construction. We worked with Rachel Carter to create the willow sculpture and woven balls with LED lights for the woodland area of the garden. Corten tube lights using constellations as a pattern for holes were made for the two sets of steps. Funky orange planters with shady planting completed the mid level and the top level became a viewing terrace with slate blocks and artificial turf in a Mondrian- inspired layout. Planting softens the whole structure, setting it into its context.
