Overview Forty Hall is a grade I listed house sitting in a grade II listed landscape part of which sits within a scheduled ancient monument site and a Higher Level Stewardship Scheme. The archaeological constraints were challenging. These included extensive relaying of Yorkstone, granite and Portland stone paving around the house and the reconstruction of the western weir over Turkey Brook including provision of a new bridge. The works were carried out with the house and gardens remaining open to the public and adjoining businesses throughout.
