Adjudication Process

Stage 1 - Adjudication

Adjudication of the Awards is carried out by an independent panel appointed by the BALI Board of Directors.

Between June and August each construction project is visited personally by an adjudicator (excluding International entries), and each design scheme is examined individually.  All entries are assessed for their quality and standards of professional skill.  The supporting entry material is also considered and may help the adjudicator understand the scale and impact of the scheme.

At the end of August the adjudicator’s meet over a two day period to jointly scrutinise each decision to ensure consensus that the winners really do represent the very best in landscape construction and design.

Stage 2 - Winners Announced

In early September, BALI will contact all entrants to advise if they have won a BALI National Landscape Award. The winners will then be announced via BALI News and Horticulture Week and will be posted on www.bali.org.uk and this site.

Stage 3 - The Awards Ceremony

All award entrants are encouraged to attend the BALI National Landscape Awards. Tickets are available to purchase throughout the year. An early bird booking rate is offered for those who book seats or tables before October.  The prestigious ceremony, held in London in December, attracts around 800 guests from all over the UK and Internationally. It is known for being the largest and best in the industry providing a platform to showcase industry excellence and provide and an effective networking environment.

Principal winners, Special Award winners and the Grand Award winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony. All winners information is press embargoed until after the Awards presentation.  Please note, not all categories will necessarily have an Award winner or a Principal winner.
